8 injured, 2 critically, after 4 vehicles crash in Newmarket


    Eight individuals have been injured, two critically, after a multi-vehicle crash in Newmarket early Saturday, police say.

    Two of the injured in the crash on Davis Drive West are youngsters, and one is in essential situation, in line with Insp. Peter Casey, responsibility inspector for York Regional Police.

    The eighth injured individual could have gone to hospital on his or her personal, he stated.

    Police obtained a name concerning the crash at 7:15 a.m. Police stated 4 vehicles collided. Casey stated there could have been a secondary crash.

    “It is a somewhat giant scene, and it should take some time to course of,” Casey stated.

    Injured taken to three hospitals

    Paramedics took the injured individuals to 3 hospitals, together with Sunnybrook Well being Sciences Centre in Toronto, Nathalie Thivierge, communications supervisor for York Area, stated.

    Davis Drive West is closed from Jane to Keele streets as police examine, Casey stated.
