Canada’s Taylor Ruck picked up two extra medals on Thursday, profitable gold and silver in Barcelona at the second cease of the Mare Nostrum collection.
The 18-year-old from Kelowna, B.C. completed first within the ladies’s 200-metre backstroke and second within the 100m freestyle.
Ruck had a time of 53.39 seconds within the 100 free, seven one-hundreths of a second behind Denmark’s Pernille Blume. Japan’s Rikako Ikee was third in 53.92.
Ruck gained the 200 backstroke in two minutes 7.96 seconds, forward of Russia’s Daria Ustinova and China’s Luo Si.
On Wednesday, Ruck gained each the 50m and 200m freestyles, bringing her whole within the Mare Nostrum collection far to 9 medals. The collection wraps up on the weekend in Monaco with races on Saturday and Sunday.
