Canada’s Milos Raonic is thru to the quarter-finals of the Mercedes Cup after posting a 6-2, 6-Four win over Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics on Thursday.
As he usually does, Raonic used his fearsome serve to his benefit within the second-round match. He had 19 aces, in contrast to simply three for Fucsovics.
Raonic, from Thornhill, Ont., gained 86 per cent of his first service factors, and 92 per cent of second service factors. The seventh seed transformed all three of his break level alternatives, and by no means confronted break level himself.
