The provincial authorities has stated that it plans to make adjustments to social assistance packages. Advocates fear about what these adjustments is likely to be. So greater than ever, individuals want to know what rights they’ve in the event that they disagree with a decision about Ontario Works (OW) or the Ontario Incapacity Help Program (ODSP).

Steps in the appeal course of

There are a variety of steps to observe if somebody doesn’t agree with a decision about social assistance.

An individual might have the ability to appeal a decision to the Social Advantages Tribunal (SBT):

  • refusing to give them social assistance

  • decreasing the quantity of assistance they get

  • reducing off their assistance

The SBT just isn’t a part of OW or ODSP and has the energy to make a totally different decision.
